MY FRIEND GOURDON
An award-winning comedy short created for the Atlantic Canada 48 Hour Film Project. The film won Best Film, Best Directing, Best Actor, and the Audience Choice Award in Atlantic Canada before screening internationally at Filmapalooza in Lisbon, Portugal, where it earned additional honours including Best Use of Prop and another Audience Choice Award.
THE ANYTIME HOUR | THE DEATH OF COMEDY
Shwing Entertainment’s latest original sketch comedy show, premiering at the 2026 Halifax Fringe Festival. Combining filmed sketches, live performances, and absurd humour, the show follows in the footsteps of our previous Fringe productions, including The History of Stolen Art which earned both the Fringiest Fringe Award and Audience Choice Award.

Shwing Entertainment wouldn't exist without the many talented people who contribute to our projects, but it all started with three friends who met in high school and never quite grew out of making videos together. More than a decade later, we're still at it - just with slightly better equipment.

Elijah serves as the director behind of Shwing Entertainment's film projects. As a writer, director, and editor, he is passionate about crafting engaging stories across comedy, drama, and genre filmmaking. In 2025, he received Best Director at the Atlantic Canada 48 Hour Film Project for My Friend Gourdon, continuing a run of award-winning films that have screened both locally and internationally.

CONNOR LOCKE

Connor helps bring Shwing Entertainment's projects from idea to reality. As a producer, writer, and actor, he plays a key role both on-screen and behind the scenes, contributing to the company's films, sketches, and live productions. His ability to balance creativity with organization helps keep even the most ambitious projects on track.

LEWIS COVERDALE

Lewis is the lead writer behind many of Shwing Entertainment's productions. He directs the company's live shows and is a frequent performer in both its films and stage productions. In 2025, he received Best Actor at the Atlantic Canada 48 Hour Film Project for his performance in My Friend Gourdon.

Shwing Entertainment creates original live comedy shows, theatrical productions, and special events across Nova Scotia. In 2023, our Halifax Fringe Festival production The History of Stolen Art received the festival's Fringiest Fringe Award, recognizing its originality and unconventional spirit. Sketch comedy is where Shwing began. What started as friends making videos has grown into a decade of creating original sketches for the internet, stage, and screen. Today, we also offer sketch comedy classes, writing workshops, creative consulting, and project development services. Through hands-on learning, participants write, perform, and film their own original work before showcasing it to a live audience. Whether you're looking to learn, collaborate, or develop a new idea, we're always excited to help bring creative projects to life.
